LLM Basics doesn't have accounts, doesn't collect email addresses, and doesn't run ads or ad trackers. There's no form on this site that asks you for anything. Here's the full list of what actually happens behind the scenes.
Analytics
This site uses Vercel Analytics to see aggregate traffic, things like page views, referring site, approximate country/region, and device type. It's cookieless and doesn't track you individually across sites or build a personal profile. I use it only to see which lessons and playgrounds people actually use, so I know what's worth improving.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel and served through Cloudflare. Both keep standard server logs (like IP address and request metadata) for security and performance purposes, the same way almost every website on the internet does. I don't access or use these logs beyond what's needed to keep the site running.
Lesson progress
Your progress through lessons (which ones you've completed) is saved in your browser's local storage only. It never leaves your device, isn't sent to any server, and clearing your browser data will clear it.
Playgrounds
Everything in the Model Builder, Pretrained Gallery, Word Math, and Tokenizer playgrounds runs entirely in your browser. Any text you type in, train on, or generate from stays on your device. The Hugging Face dataset picker does query Hugging Face's public API directly from your browser to search datasets, that request goes to Hugging Face, not to me.
